Our Policy Plan – Stichting Heart of Generous Works International

Transforming Lives. Building Hope. Empowering Communities.

Our Policy Plan

We believe true impact goes beyond short-term aid

Stichting Heart of Generous Works International is a charitable foundation focused on implementing impactful development projects in Malawi. Our primary mission is to improve the lives of children and marginalised communities through the provision of clean water and sanitation, education and social initiatives. Our efforts will be geared towards fostering long-term sustainable development, ensuring that people have access to clean water and children have access to quality education and a healthier living environment.

— Primary Objective

To improve the quality of life for the people of Malawi by
sourcing funds to support education, healthcare, community development, food security, and economic empowerment.

01.

— Mission Statement

To empower and uplift communities in Malawi by providing access to quality education, clean water, and sanitation, and creating programs that enhance the social well-being of children and families.

— Our Vision

To create a healthier, more prosperous Malawi where every individual has access to clean water, proper sanitation, and quality education, empowering communities to thrive and break the cycle of poverty.

— Secondary Objectives:

  • Provide education support such as infrastructure for schools and school supplies.
  • Promote access to clean drinking water and improve sanitation facilities in marginalised communities by drilling boreholes.
  • Improve overall living conditions through various social development projects, including healthcare support, livelihood programs, and vocational training.

Key Projects and Focus Areas

01.

— Water & Sanitation

Access to clean water and proper sanitation is a basic human right, yet many communities in Malawi still struggle to meet these needs. Through our water projects, we drill boreholes and construct wells in water-scarce regions, providing safe drinking water close to home. We also build sanitation facilities, such as latrines, and run hygiene awareness campaigns to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. To ensure long-term solutions, we install water filtration systems in schools and communities, giving children and families a reliable source of clean and safe water.

02.

— Education

At Heart of Generous Works International, we believe education is the foundation of a brighter future. We invest in building and renovating schools, creating safe and welcoming classrooms where children can learn and grow. By providing scholarships and sponsorships, particularly for underprivileged girls, we open doors to equal opportunities that can change lives. Our teacher training programs equip educators with modern skills and resources, ensuring they can deliver quality education to every child. In addition, we are bridging the digital divide by introducing technology-based learning in rural areas, giving students access to the tools they need to thrive in the modern world.

03.

— Social Development

Beyond education and water, we are committed to improving the overall well-being of communities through social development initiatives. Our healthcare and nutrition programs bring essential services such as health camps, vaccination drives, and nutritional support to children and mothers who need them most. We also provide vocational training to women and youth, helping them acquire practical skills that open pathways to employment and self-reliance. To strengthen community resilience, we organize awareness programs that highlight the importance of education, sanitation, and health, fostering unity and a collective drive for sustainable development.

Marketing and Outreach

—Social Media & Digital Presence

We use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube to share stories, project updates, and information about the communities we serve in Malawi. Our website provides easy access to donation options, project information, organisational updates, and stories demonstrating the impact of our work.

— Budget and Financial Planning

We develop comprehensive budgets for each project, clearly outlining anticipated costs for construction, materials, staffing, administration, and other necessary expenses. We are committed to transparency in the allocation and use of funds through regular financial reporting to donors and stakeholders, while ensuring that resources are managed efficiently and that a significant portion of funding directly benefits the communities we serve.

—Influencers and Ambassadors

We engage social media influencers, celebrities, public figures, and advocates to help promote our mission and reach a wider audience. By partnering with Malawian and international personalities who share our vision, we aim to raise awareness, inspire support, and amplify the voices of the communities we serve.

— Community Engagement

We encourage volunteers in Malawi and internationally to participate in fundraising, awareness campaigns, and other activities that support our mission. Through community events, workshops, and public forums, we create opportunities for people to learn about our work, contribute their skills, and become actively involved in creating positive change.

Implementation Strategy

01.

— Project Design & Selection

We work closely with local stakeholders in Malawi to identify communities with the greatest needs and design targeted projects addressing critical challenges in education, water, and sanitation. Projects are prioritized based on urgency, long-term sustainability, and potential community impact, while aligning with local government development strategies and collaborating with existing NGOs to maximize resources and avoid duplication.

02.

— Local Partnerships

We partner with local NGOs, schools, health facilities, community leaders, businesses, and community members to ensure that our projects are locally relevant, culturally appropriate, and effectively implemented. By involving local stakeholders, we promote community ownership, strengthen local capacity, build trust, and ensure that the communities we serve play an active role in shaping sustainable solutions.

03.

— Monitoring and Evaluation

We maintain robust monitoring and evaluation systems to promote transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all projects. This includes financial audits, milestone tracking, performance indicators, impact assessments, and periodic evaluations. We also actively seek feedback from beneficiaries through interviews, surveys, and community meetings to ensure our projects remain responsive to community needs and deliver meaningful, lasting results.

Financial Accountability and Transparency

To ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible use of assets, Stichting Heart of Generous Works International will have a Dedicated Charity Bank Account where all donations and grants will be managed through a registered charity account with ING, providing traceability and compliance with Dutch regulatory standards.

Financial Reports will be prepared to monitor cash flow, budget adherence, and project spending. Annual Impact Reports will be shared with donors and stakeholders, combining financial data with program outcomes

In the event of the dissolution of Stichting Heart of Generous Works International, any assets remaining after the settlement of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to one or more non-profit organisations or charitable institutions with objectives similar to those of the Foundation, as determined by the Board and in accordance with the Foundation’s Articles of Association and the applicable laws of the Netherlands. Under no circumstances shall any remaining assets or profits be distributed to the founders, directors, officers, or any private individual.

— Professional Accounting Tools

Financial transactions and budget tracking will be managed using reliable accounting software to ensure accuracy and audit-readiness.

To safeguard resources and prevent misuse:

  • All payments will require dual-signature authorisation.
  • Ongoing budget vs. actual variance analyses will be conducted.
